This position is elected by current OA members in the troop<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Responsible to:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Assistant Senior Patrol Leader and adult OA Representative<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Term:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Approximately 5 months<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Minimum Attendance:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The OA Representative should attend at least 80% of the  meetings, and at least one overnight OA (Ordeal, Conclave, Fellowship, etc.\u2026) event<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Specific Duties:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Serve as a two-\u00adway communication link between the OA Lodge\/Chapter and the Troop<\/li><li>Encourage scouts to actively participate in community service projects.<\/li><li>Assist with leadership skills training and outdoor skills in the troop.<\/li><li>Encourage Arrowmen to assume leadership positions in the troop.<\/li><li>Encourage Arrowmen in the Troop to be active participants in Lodge\/Chapter activities.<\/li><li>Encourage Arrowmen in the Troop to seal their membership in the Order by becoming Brotherhood.<\/li><li>Coordinate Arrow-of-Light Ceremony for local packs that feed the troop<\/li><li>Coordinate travel and attendance for recently elected OA candidates to an Ordeal.<\/li><li>Coordinate travel and attendance for Ordeal members to become Brotherhood members at each Ordeal.<\/li><li>Work with the adult OA representative<\/li><li>In all cases, advocates environmental stewardship and Leave No Trace.<\/li><li>Be on time for all troop meetings and activities.<\/li><li>Set a good example.<\/li><li>Enthusiastically wear the scout uniform.<\/li><li>Live by the Scout Oath and Law.<\/li><li>Be an active Scout and show Scout spirit.<\/li><\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Job Description: The Order of the Arrow (OA) Troop Representatives is a youth liaison serving between the local Order of the Arrow lodge or chapter and his troop.
