He assists the den leader with den and pack activities and serves as a role model to the boys. This is an appointed position by the Scoutmaster and typically runs for a full year to provide continuity to the den. A Den Chief can hold an additional troop elected position<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Responsible to:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Assigned Den Leader<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Minimum Rank:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">First Class Scout<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Minimum Training:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Den Chief Training<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Term:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Approximately 12 months<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Minimum Attendance:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Den Chief should attend at least 80% of the meetings and at least 80% of the Den &amp; Pack meetings<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Specific Duties:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Know the purposes of Cub Scouting.<\/li><li>Help Cub Scouts achieve the purposes of Cub Scouting.<\/li><li>Serve as the activities assistant at den meetings.<\/li><li>Set a good example through attitude and uniform<\/li><li>Be a friend to the boys in the den.<\/li><li>Help the den in its part of the monthly Pack meeting.<\/li><li>Meet regularly with the den leader to review den and Pack meeting plans.<\/li><li>Encourage Cub Scouts to join a Boy Scout Troop upon Graduation.<\/li><li>Be on time for all troop, den and pack meetings and activities.<\/li><li>Set a good example.<\/li><li>Live by the Scout Oath and Law.<\/li><li>Be an active Scout and show Scout spirit.<\/li><\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Job Description: The Den Chief is an ambassador of the troop to local Cub Scout packs.
