This is an appointed position by the Scoutmaster with guidance from the SPL.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Responsible to:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Assistant Senior Patrol Leader and Assistant Scoutmaster for Communications<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Term:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Approximately 5 months<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Minimum Attendance:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Historian should attend at least 80% of the meetings and at least 75% of the monthly campouts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Specific Duties:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Gathers pictures and facts about past activities of the troop and keeps them in scrapbooks or the web.<\/li><li>Creates summary for each campout for Web Master to post online.<\/li><li>Develop presentations (e.g. digital slides of about 10 minutes in length) for each Courts of Honor or assist Adults with this task as necessary. Show the presentation at the court. [fall term has 2, spring term has 1]<\/li><li>Develop a presentation (e.g. digital slides of about 10 minutes in length) summarizing prior year or assist Adults with this task as necessary. Show the presentation to Troop Committee meeting. [spring term only]<\/li><li>Take care of troop trophies, ribbons, and keepsakes.<\/li><li>Keep information on troop alumni.<\/li><li>Be on time for all troop meetings and activities.<\/li><li>Set a good example.<\/li><li>Enthusiastically wear the scout uniform.<\/li><li>Live by the Scout Oath and Law.<\/li><li>Be an active Scout and show Scout spirit.<\/li><\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Job Description: Troop Historian keeps an historical record of troop activities.
