For Life.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The First to Life program is designed to provide guidance and direction to our Scouts who have reached First Class until they have achieved the rank of Life.\u00a0 The First to Life coordinator along with other Scout Leaders will work to ensure that these Scouts perform the necessary requirements to achieve each of the ranks listed below.\u00a0 These requirements will be met by earning\u00a0merit badges, performing\u00a0service projects, and by actively serving in one or more leadership positions within the troop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Star Requirements<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bsatroop570.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/BSA_Rank_Patch_Star.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.bsatroop570.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/BSA_Rank_Patch_Star.png\" alt=\"BSA_Rank_Patch_Star\" class=\"wp-image-2817\"\/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Be active in your unit (and patrol if you are in one) for at least four months as a First Class Scout.<\/li><li>Demonstrate Scout spirit by living the Scout Oath (Promise) and Scout Law in your everyday life.<\/li><li>Earn six merit badges, including any four from the required list for Eagle.<\/li><li>While a First Class Scout, take part in service project(s) totaling at least six hours of work. These projects must be approved by your Scoutmaster.<\/li><li>While a First Class Scout, serve actively in your unit for four months in one or more of the following positions of responsibility (or carry out a Scoutmaster-assigned leadership project to help the unit): &nbsp;&nbsp;Patrol leader, assistant senior patrol leader, senior patrol leader, Venture patrol leader, troop guide, Order of the Arrow troop representative, den chief, scribe, librarian, historian, quartermaster, bugler, junior assistant Scoutmaster, chaplain aide, instructor, troop Webmaster, or Leave No Trace trainer<\/li><li>Take part in a Scoutmaster conference.<\/li><li>Complete your board of review<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Life Requirements<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bsatroop570.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/BSA_Rank_Patch_Life.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.bsatroop570.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/BSA_Rank_Patch_Life.png\" alt=\"BSA_Rank_Patch_Life\" class=\"wp-image-2818\"\/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Be active in your unit (and patrol if you are in one) for at least six months as a Star Scout.<\/li><li>Demonstrate Scout spirit by living the Scout Oath (Promise) and Scout Law in your everyday life.<\/li><li>Earn five more merit badges (so that you have 11 in all), including any three more from the required list for Eagle. (See the&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.scouting.org\/scoutsource\/BoyScouts\/AdvancementandAwards\/eagle.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Eagle Rank Requirements<\/a>, number 3, for this list.) A Scout may choose any of the 15 required merit badges in the 12 categories to fulfill this requirement.<\/li><li>While a Star Scout, take part in service project(s) totaling at least six hours of work. These projects must be approved by your Scoutmaster.\/li&gt;<\/li><li>While a Star Scout, serve actively for six months in your unit in one or more of the troop positions of responsibility listed in requirement 5 for&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.scouting.org\/scoutsource\/BoyScouts\/AdvancementandAwards\/star.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Star Scout<\/a>&nbsp;(or carry out a Scoutmaster-assigned leadership project to help the unit).<\/li><li>While a Star Scout, use the EDGE method to teach a younger Scout the skills from ONE of the following six choices, so that he is prepared to pass those requirements to his unit leader\u2019s satisfaction.<ul><li>Second Class\u20147a and 7c (first aid)<\/li><li>Second Class\u20141a (outdoor skills)<\/li><li>Second Class\u20143c, 3d, 3e, and 3f (cooking\/camping)<\/li><li>First Class\u20148a, 8b, 8c, and 8d (first aid)<\/li><li>First Class\u20141, 7a, and 7b (outdoor skills)<\/li><li>First Class\u20144a, 4b, and 4d (cooking\/camping)<\/li><li>Three requirements from one of the required Eagle merit badges, as approved by your unit leader.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Take part in a Scoutmaster conference.<\/li><li>Complete your board of review.<\/li><\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Be Prepare.
